"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this

world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
John 16:33 NIV 84

"The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice."
Psalm 97:1 NIV 84

As a new day breaks the events of last nights election are on the minds of us all, as Donald Trump was elected 45th President of the United States. For months we as Americans have been bombarded with political information, mud slinging and countless promises.  We must remember that this world is not our home.

While the leader of our country has changed...

While the moral climate of our country continues to shift...

While the we are watching the reality of 2 Timothy 4:3 come into living color...

It is important to remember that nothing changed last night in regard of our mission, the great commission or the fact that we are preparing for the rapture of the church.

The work of evangelism goes on...
The work of discipleship goes on...
The call to go into all the world goes on...

It's worth noting that our mission has never been dependent upon favorable political environment.  Our mission has been met with opposition through the history of the church and yet God has not rescinded His expectations or His commands to us as believers, as families, as the Church.

While days ahead will be different and difficulties will likely increase. Gods word calls you to be strong to lead well, and to walk worthy of the calling you have received.  Let me leave you with this thought as we contemplate the results of our presidential election.  These thoughts were recorded in the personal journal of John Wesley on October 6, 1774.

I met those of our society who had votes in the ensuing election, and advised them 1. To vote, without fee or reward, for the person they judged most worthy 2. To speak no evil of the person they voted against, and 3. To take care their spirits were not sharpened against those that voted on the other side.

Grace and Peace,
