Luke 14.31 — And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with it.
We are celebrating communion today. And it’s a privilege to have Pastor Chuck Slater with us to lead us in this time of fellowship in the Lord.
This ordinance of the Church is so important, because it is a reminder to us that we are all part of one body. There is only one Church in Sonoma: Jesus’ Church. While there are many different expressions of that Body, it remains that Jesus will only recognize a single Church in heaven.
As one body, we are called to bear one another’s burdens, and pray for one another when we are battling. When one suffers; we all suffer. Your promotion is my promotion. My blessing is your blessing!
We opened the year with a wonderful healing. Sister Sharon was healed of shingles. I’m thankful for God’s touch on her life to deliver her from that painful condition. But yesterday, when I ran into an old friend who had developed Parkinson’s; it broke my heart. I know that we all eventually die, but seeing her made me reach for more in God in my personal life, to be able to intercede and make a difference in the lives of my friends.
We have several members that I want to call us to pray for as a congregation. Our sister Amanda is battling ALS, and it is getting worse. Also, Mikey, Wendy, and Grandma Gloria are battling cancer. Each of these need a supernatural touch of the Lord, or they won’t make it.
Will you join me this week in an expression of faith for these precious friends? I want the Lord to know that we care, and I want them to know we are fighting for them and with them. Let’s remember that we are one body. Let’s rise up and reach for a greater level of healing anointing in our midst.
By His stripes, we are healed,
Pastors Steve & Deena
